Systembolaget AB (the Swedish Alcohol Retail Monopoly) has chosen EDB ErgoGroup as its new supplier of IT operating services. The agreement gives EDB ErgoGroup responsibility for the entire value chain of IT functions at Systembolaget, ranging from the cash tills at its stores through to the central business systems. The agreement represents total contract value in the order of SEK 250 million over a period of five years.
Until now, Systembolaget has outsourced the operating services for its central IT operations of applications, but the company has operated the systems for its retail stores in-house. The new agreement gives EDB ErgoGroup responsibility for all IT operations, including capacity services, operating services for workstations and operating services for the till systems that serve all of Systembolaget’s approx. 400 retail outlets throughout Sweden. EDB ErgoGroup will also deliver a new IT platform for Systembolaget’s workstations based on its SKALA concept, using Windows 7 and Office 2010.
