Accenture has agreed to acquire CAS Computer Anwendungs-und Systemberatung AG (CAS), based in Kaiserslautern, Germany, an international provider of customer relationship management (CRM) and mobility software focused on retail execution and trade promotions for the consumer products industry.
CAS is recognized by key industry analysts as a leader in the development and implementation of software solutions that are used extensively by many of the world’s major consumer product companies and can be deployed on all major mobile devices. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition will enhance Accenture’s ability to help consumer products companies improve their in-store strategies through more effective and efficient retail execution. It also will build on the growing list of offerings of Accenture Software, which focuses on the development, maintenance and support of industry-specific, software-based solutions, with more than 40 software products today.
“The acquisition of CAS will build on Accenture’s ability to help our clients in consumer packaged goods achieve high performance in one of the most competitive areas in their industry – winning the ‘store shelf’,” said Fabio Vacirca, who leads Accenture’s Consumer Goods & Services industry practice in Europe and Latin America. “When combined with Accenture’s deep industry expertise and wide-ranging analytics capabilities, CAS’s software solutions will enable us to help these companies better serve retailers, which will ultimately strengthen the consumer shopping experience and positively impact sales.”
CAS’s 234 consultants and software development specialists have been responsible for more than 200 implementations in 30 countries and their capabilities complement Accenture’s strengths in the consumer products industry as well as in business analytics, marketing and sales management. Accenture intends to continue to use the CAS software product name and will manage the product suite within the Accenture Software business. CAS’s headquarters and development center in Kaiserslautern, Germany, will continue to focus on software solution development for the Consumer Goods and Services industry. CAS has additional locations in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia.***
