3 banks in 1,000 days
Published on 16 Aug 2012

SOFGEN Holdings Limited (SOFGEN) announces its successful implementation and live deployment across 49 branches of the Temenos T24 core banking system at Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank in Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska.

This latest accomplishment was Part 3 (of 4) of a major rollout plan for the bank’s various entities in the former Yugoslavia region starting with Montenegro in November 2009, followed in May 2011 by Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina making this a total of three banks having been implemented in 1,000 days.

The Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank Banja Luka implementation has T24 R10 running on IBM AIX under DB2, Browser R10.69 and features the AA Lending Module for its corporate and retail lending business. The region’s operations centre is situated in Belgrade where the implementation program, including a SOFGEN team of 12 T24 experts, is also located. An IT Shared Service Centre, locally named ZIS d.o.o., hosts four Hypo Group Alpe-Adria banks as well as three other banks. The centre offers the full scope of ADM and ITO Services (Hosting, Operating, Implementation, Development, Maintenance, DWH, etc.) and as such represents the main repository of T24 competence in the region. As a result of the full outsourcing of the above-mentioned services, banks require an in-house web server only.

Currently serving three countries, the centre is capable of extending its support operations to the entire region. Despite having to contend with substantial retail volumes, the data migration, performed using the SOFGEN Migration Manager application, was achieved comfortably during the course of an extended weekend with the system fully reconciled and ready for live operation by start of business on Monday,6 August.

Mr. Ernst Fanzott, Hypo Group Alpe-Adria Management Board and IT Shared Service Centre Program Manager commented, “The transition to T24 was remarkably smooth and the subsequent live operation has been trouble-free with impressive performance. The outstanding contribution of the SOFGEN team with respect to T24 expertise and sound experience in the field, coupled with unparalleled support from Temenos, has been crucial in achieving this result.”Mr. Mark Paterson, SOFGEN EVP, Integration, stated, “Three implementations successfully completed in such a short timeframe is testimony to the skills and dedication of the entire project team comprising Hypo Bank business and technical staff, the SOFGEN consultants and the Temenos support team.” Paterson added, “The project team performed like a well-oiled machine, justifiably confident in their abilities to execute successful T24 implementations.”
