Cloud Computing World Forum highlights increased interest in cloud
Published on 19 Jun 2012

Over 4,500 IT professionals flocked to London for one of Europe’s leading enterprise technology events, the Cloud Computing World Forum.

Held on the 12 and 13 June at Earls Court, the event showcased the growing business and consumer interest in cloud computing across the globe, hosting some of the biggest names and organisations from the IT industry, including over 100 global exhibitors and 200 expert speakers.

Among the highlights were Apple’s former CEO, John Sculley, who delivered a talk on how cloud computing is enhancing the telemedicine industry, while hundreds crammed into the keynote theatre on day one to listen to Amazon’s iconic CTO, Werner Vogels, talk about the meteoric rise of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its role in the industry’s development.

Mark Johnstone, Show Director said, “The event was a great success with a fantastic reaction to a great agenda and speaker line-up. The marketplace has clearly developed from 2011 and this was represented by the growing number of attendees and exhibitors.

“Next year’s show will be to be even larger as the interest in cloud computing continues to gain momentum.”

The 5th Annual Cloud Computing World Forum will move to Olympia National Hall, on 18-19 June 2013, to cater for further increasing interest in the topic.

The show is part of a global cloud computing event series, the Cloud Computing World Series stops off next in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the 2nd Cloud Computing World Forum Latin America, where 500 senior IT decision-makers from the Latin American region will attend this two day conference and exhibition.
