In January, at the 2009 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown called on the Forum to facilitate a “new business-led mission in support of an ambitious climate agreement in Copenhagen, focused on the policies that will lead to business investment in a low-carbon recovery.”
In response, the WEF organized six multistakeholder working groups (the Low-Carbon Prosperity Task Force) to examine how the transition to a low-carbon growth could be accelerated in key areas. IHS was honored to be a part of the Task Force.
IHS participants included:
Michael Banville
Vice President, Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
(Participated in the Energy Efficiency and Standards & Metrics working groups)
Bert Turner
Vice President, Environment
(Participated in the Standards & Metrics working group Cabinet)
A summary of the Task Force’s recommendations has recently been released and is available here. *
