Egyptian exchange selects Nasdaq OMX engine

The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) has become the latest bourse to implement a trading platform from global exchange group Nasdaq OMX.

The new platform, X-Stream, was launched yesterday and replaces the old EFA Horizon trading system. According to the EGX, the upgrade will support the increasing volume of trading on the exchange, as well as facilitating the simultaneous trading of multiple product classes including equities, debt, exchange traded funds, futures and options.

Nasdaq OMX’s X-Stream system is currently operating in 15 countries around the world, including China, Switzerland and Indonesia.
